Finding a spade in the eastern room
To find a spade in the eastern room, you must first enter Draynor Manor, located just north of Draynor Village. Speak to Veronica, who will be wandering around just south of the manor near the entrance. She explains that she and her fiancé, Ernest, were lost, and Ernest decided to go into the manor to ask for directions but hasn't returned.
Climb the stairs located directly north of the main entrance, and then climb the nearby ladder up to the second floor. Talk to Professor Oddenstein, who will tell you that he has turned Ernest into a chicken. He will also tell you that his machine is broken, but if you fix it, he can change Ernest back. He will ask you to get him several items, including a spade.
Go back down the stairs leading to the second floor. Walk past the other set of stairs and pick up the box of fish food on the floor. Go down to the ground floor and head into the kitchen to the west. Next to the stove is a door, and in the small room is a bottle of poison. Leave the kitchen and enter the room with a black and grey checkered floor. Next to the stairs, you will find the eastern room, where there is a spade in the corner.
With the spade in hand, exit out the back door of the eastern room. Go north around the back of the manor to the west to find the compost heap. Use your spade to search the compost heap and obtain a small key.

He will fix it and turn Ernest back into a human, and you've completed the quest!
