Valeria Golino
Golino's career began when her uncle, journalist Enzo Golino, received a call from director Lina Wertmüller, who was looking for a young girl for her movie. Golino met with Wertmüller and was eventually cast in her first film, A Joke of Destiny (1983). She left high school after her first movie and did not receive any formal acting training. Despite this, she went on to star in several European co-productions, including Dernier été à Tanger (1987), The Gold Rimmed Glasses (1987), and Three Sisters (1988).
In 1988, Golino moved to Los Angeles with her then-partner, a Puerto Rican actor, and began her Hollywood career with the film Big Top Pee-wee. That same year, she appeared in Barry Levinson's Rain Man as Susanna, the girlfriend of Tom Cruise's character. She also starred in Jim Abrahams' comedy Hot Shots! (1991) and its sequel, Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993), as the girlfriend of the protagonist. In these films, she became known for the "olive-in-the-belly-button" scene.
Golino has also pursued singing and directing. She recorded two LPs in 1987 and sang in several films, including Hot Shots! and Big Top Pee-wee. She directed her first feature film, Honey (2013), which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2018, she directed Euforia, which was also screened at Cannes and is considered one of Riccardo Scamarcio's best performances. Golino has dated Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio and is currently partnered with lawyer Fabio Palombi.

Brenda Bakke
Hot Shots! Part Deux, a Charlie Sheen film, was one of Bakke's early roles. During the 1990s, she appeared in mainstream Hollywood films, including Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) and the critically acclaimed L.A. Topper and his team proceed to the prison camp disguised as river fishermen, but they encounter an Iraqi patrol boat, leading to a confrontation. President Benson, worried about the impact of the failed missions on his reelection campaign, decides to join the fight and sends additional forces to Iraq. Topper and his team reach the Iraqi hostage camp, and a gunfight ensues. During the operation, Topper discovers that Harbinger is not the saboteur but has become disillusioned with fighting. They eventually succeed in rescuing the American soldiers and defeating the Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein.
