Anne Rice, born Howard Allen Frances O'Brien, was an American author of Gothic fiction, erotic literature, and Bible fiction. She is best known for writing The Vampire Chronicles, which includes the 1988 novel The Queen of the Damned, the basis for the 2002 film of the same name.
